You have full control over matching. MentorPlace supports:

• Admin-facilitated matching — your L&D team reviews profiles and assigns pairs
• Self-selection — mentees browse available mentors and request a match
• Criteria-based matching — filter by goals, skills, seniority, department, or function

Most organisations start with admin-facilitated matching and transition to self-selection as the programme matures.

Sessions happen entirely within MentorPlace — no additional tools required. Built-in video calling means participants click “Join” from their session page and they’re connected immediately.

The shared goals interface is also accessible in real-time within the video, so mentors and mentees can review and update goals together during the session.

Yes. MentorPlace sends automated email reminders 24 hours and 1 hour before each scheduled session, with a direct link to join. SMS reminders are also available.
